Cultural sightseeing!

After a week of working, we got to go on some cultural excursions this weekend! On Saturday morning we left for the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples on the south coast of Malta. After a long bus ride and a few kilometers of walking, we entered the temple site with these amazing views in front of us:



First we looked through the temple museum that taught us about the globegerina limestone that was used to make these above-ground structures in 3600 BCE. Here’s a model of the aerial view of the temple site:


The two temple sites were really cool! The stones used to make these structures are so huge, people used to think they were built by giants.



Afterward, we sat on the mountain and enjoyed a nice view of the waves crashing on the rocks.
